''What do you want to do when you grow up''?
I would always shrug my shoulders when asked this question as a child/teenager because quite frankly, I didn't have a clue! Except when I was 8- years old when I was certain I wanted to grow up to be a Wrestler. The dream never came to fruition... (gazes at the floor solemnly).
It's OK, I've found my thing. It's Coaching. Helping people to get clear on who they are, what they want, and how to create that.
I understand for many of us, there still is no clarity. So if you're reading this and you're not sure on your purpose, you're not sure on the type of life you wish to create or what your passions are, I'm writing this for you and am sharing 7 Questions.
So how best to tackle the questions?
I suggest you take some time out, ideally in a quiet place that inspires you, at the least, somewhere you won't get disturbed. Grab a pen and paper and write whatever comes to mind until you can write no more. It's important not to judge your answers. Accept what comes up.
Once you have your answers, look back over them and notice if there are any occurring themes or words. Ponder these 3 questions to summarize. What's interesting about your answers? What is new? Which answers do you feel drawn towards?
As Steve Jobs said 'your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it'.
